State of Florida Requirements
The Florida Course Code Directory details the specific minimum requirements for graduation with a State of Florida diploma. All students [including IB diploma candidates] must earn a passing score on the grade 10 Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). The IB student is permitted to qualify for a Florida diploma based on an International Baccalaureate curriculum in lieu of the standard 24 academic credits.

Florida law recognizes the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum as a method of qualifying for a Florida Academic or Florida Medallion Scholars award through the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program. To qualify for a Bright Futures award utilizing the IB curriculum option, students must satisfy the following requirements:

Ridgeview High School is a participating member of the International Baccalaureate Organization. Programs of study include the Preliminary International Baccalaureate (PIB) and International Baccalaureate (IB) c urricula. The PIB is an intensive experience in grades 9 and 10 designed to prepare students for the rigors of the two-year International Baccalaureate curriculum studied in grades 11 and 12.
Students wishing to enter the program in the ninth grade must meet the following qualifications: scores of 85% or higher in math and reading on a standardized test (FCAT, SAT, CTBS, etc.); Algebra I or higher in 8th grade; 3.0 or higher GPA; successful completion of the application process which includes teacher recommendations from the academic teachers for grade 8.
