IB Diplomas and Certificates

IBO

Diplomas:

All assessment components for each of the six subjects and the additional IB diploma requirements (CAS, Extended Essay, TOK) must be completed in order to qualify for the award of the IB diploma.  The IB diploma will be awarded to a candidate whose total score is 24 or higher and has no failing conditions.  The maximum possible score is 45 points.

A maximum of three examination sessions is allowed in which to satisfy the requirements for the award of the IB diploma.

Successful IB diploma candidates will receive an IB diploma and the document Diploma Results listing the total diploma score, the subject grades, the points awarded for the combination of TOK and the Extended Essay, and the completion of a CAS program.

Provisions are also made to provide qualified students with the opportunity to earn a bilingual diploma.

Certificates:

An IB diploma candidate who fails to satisfy the requirements for the award of an IB diploma will still be awarded a certificate indicating the grades obtained in individual subjects, the results in TOK and the Extended Essay and the completion of a CAS program.

IB exams may include a variety of oral and written assessments conducted during IB 11-12 years.  The major assessments are held in May of IB-12.
